May 14-16, 2021, the 10th IEEE Data-Driven Control and Learning System Conference, co-sponsored by the Data-Driven Control, Learning and Optimization Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Automation and Qingdao University, hosted by the University of Science and Technology of Suzhou, and co-organized by the IEEE Beijing Branch (2021 IEEE 10th Data Driven Control and Learning Systems Conference, DDCLS'21) was successfully held in Tongli Lake Hotel, Suzhou, Jiangsu. The conference attracted 470 well-known experts, scholars and representatives in this field. The DDCLS’21 conference includes a special invitation report, a young scholars forum report, a panel discussion, a pre-conference lecture, an industrial control practice forum, and a group report. A "Laoshan Academic Forum" was held at the same time. A total of 305 papers including long abstracts were accepted for this conference, and the number and quality of the papers reached new heights.

The opening ceremony of the DDCLS’21 conference was presided over by Professor Wang Jing, the chairman of the conference organizing committee and the deputy secretary-general of the special committee. Professor Jiang Pengming, President of Suzhou University of Science and Technology, and Ni Zhiqiang, vice chairman of Suzhou Association for Science and Technology, respectively delivered welcome speeches. The topic of the pre-conference lecture on the afternoon of May 14 was "Progress and Application of Model-Free Adaptive Control". The speakers included Professor Hou Zhongsheng from Qingdao University, Associate Professor Jin Shangtai from Beijing Jiaotong University, Professor Bu Xuhui from Henan University of Technology, and Chi from Qingdao University of Science and Technology. On May 15th, 4 conference special lectures and panel discussions were arranged in the form of online and offline mixed. Specially invited lectures at the conference are "Application and Development Trends of Key Technologies for Multi-robot Collaboration" brought by Academician Wang Yaonan of Hunan University, and "Control of linear systems subject to actuator saturation: from model-based design to" by Professor Zongli Lin from the University of Virginia. Reinforcement learning control", "High-speed train traction drive system fault diagnosis, prediction and fault-tolerant control technology" brought by Professor Jiang Bin, Vice President of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and "Digital Twins for Distributed Fault" brought by Professor Thomas Parisini from Imperial College London Detection in the Process Industry".
The panel discussion with the theme "Big Data and Control Science under Artificial Intelligence" was hosted by Professor Hou Zhongsheng.
